Sports Producing

I have produced sports shows from Mid-Missouri to Indianapolis, covering events at all levels from high school to professional sports.

Indianapolis 500

The 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 was a monumental event for our station, as well as the Indianapolis viewing area.  I was the producer for the first three hours of a six-hour prerace show.  I was able to organize multiple reporters, live shots and guest appearances.

Indy Mini Marathon

Thousands of runners from across the nation visit Circle City each year to take part in the annual Indianapolis Mini-Marathon.   I creatively used my resources to tell the story of the race from all angles.  Using multiple reporters, I covered not only the race, but traffic and other events throughout the morning.

Grand Prix

I produced an hour of our three-hour Grand Prix special. Since it was hours before the race, the challenge was to make sure the viewers knew what to expect ahead of the race. I managed live anchors, reporters and other shots help give the audience a sense of what it was like at the speedway.

SEC Championship

I was the coordinating producer for four newscasts involving six reporters, two anchors and multiple live shots over the course of four days.

World Series Coverage

I was the coordinating producer for all of the KOMU newscasts during four days of coverage. The shows included four reporters, two anchors and two live locations.

Friday Night Fever

My tasks included managing 20 plus reporters covering  more than 40 local teams in this weekly high school football show.
