The story of a deadly apartment fire developed throughout the morning. Using multiple elements, I was able to give the viewers a full picture of the most important story of the day. Working with the reporter we captured the scene, information and urgency.
Hurricane Ida

I was able to capture what viewers needed to know in the first 100 seconds. I used live looks and sound to convey the importance of the stories to the viewer. I also used several production elements to make the show visually interesting.
Place Your Bets
Thursday at Noon (A block)
A historic day in Washington in many ways.
Just moments before the newscast the first legal sports bet was placed in the state. Then minutes later the new NHL team opened its first ice rink.
I was able to work against the deadline to present the story and provide breakouts to give the viewer a full picture of the top stories.
Heat Wave
Thusday at Noon (A block)
The main story of the day was the heat. I was able to capture all aspects of the story. Despite limited resources I explained how the hot weather impacted both people and environment. I was also able to balance the rest of the news of the day to complete the newscast.
Icy Roads

Weather often requires a producer to adapt to numerous accidents, closures and community issues that must be immediately updated. Throughout the morning, I had to adapt our show as an unexpected ice storm moved into the Indianapolis area.
Officer's Death
Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. (A Block)
I was able to use a variety of elements to showcase the top two stories of the day. The top stories were an officer's death and the heath care bill. I used my reporters and a serious of breakouts to make the stories urgent. I was able to focus on what was happening now and what was next with both stories.
Hockey History
Tuesday at Noon (A block)
The puck finally drops for Seattle's new hockey franchise. I was able to work with reporters to cover all aspects of the story. I captured and built up the event from Seattle to Las Vegas. I also balanced the big story of the day with rest of the content to complete the block
